High Peaks 300 Hour Training

The Hot Yoga Spot in Saratoga, NY. Begins September 2023.

This RYS 300-hour advanced yoga training is designed to expand upon and deepen one’s understanding of the fundamental concepts of the practice of yoga and teaching. This training will guide trainees to teach principles and techniques of yoga that are more advanced, more detailed, and/or subtler, and enables them to teach with greater skill and confidence.

This training will be offered in self-paced module format. Modules will be offered in both group and independent study formats to fit your schedule. Trainees go at your own pace, with required modules and elective modules offered as you go further into your yogic studies. Hours will be offered in person, remote as needed, and in retreat settings.

300 Hour Yoga High Peaks Teacher Training

This RYS 300-hour advanced yoga training is designed to expand upon and deepen one’s understanding of the fundamental concepts of the practice of yoga and teaching. Prerequisites: 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate

Begins September 2023

Cost: $250 registration

Modules Format: Required and elective modules offered, flexible, go at your own pace training

Total Cost: $3500, pay per module or $3000 if paid in full upfront.

Asana, Alignment and Sequencing Module

The Asana module will include alignment, teaching cues, modifications, safety, sanskrit and practice. Advanced asana techniques and sequencing will also be studied in this module as well.

Pranayama and Meditation Module

This module will include the study of pranayama techniques and integration into yoga practice and teaching methods. We will explore different meditation and mindfulness techniques and benefits.

Anatomy and Physiology Module

The Anatomy for Yoga module will include a study of anatomy and physiology and how it impacts our asana practice. This module will help further awareness and understanding of yoga anatomy, bodily systems, as well as the subtle body. We will also study nadis, bandhas, chakras, kleshas and koshas.

Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and EthicsModule

Further and deeper study of yoga philosophies and traditional texts such as the Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita, yogic lifestyles, ethics for teaching yoga, understanding yoga as being of service (seva). An Ayurvedic workshop will also be offered in this module

Hot 26 (elective module)

This module will include a deep dive into the 26 postures of the Hot 26 (aka Bikram) sequence. Areas of study will include posture clinics, including alignment, safe modifications, sequencing, cues and instructing, as well as yoga history and philosophy associated with this lineage. This module is suitable for 200 hour certified yoga instructors who wish to instruct the Hot 26 sequence or advance their own practice.

Aerial Yoga (elective module)

This module will offer an introduction into the aerial arts including aerial yoga instruction, alignment, and sequencing.

Topics Of Study

  1. Techniques, Training and Practice: Including but not limited to asana, alignment, safety, pranayama, kriyas, meditation, mantra, and other traditional yoga techniques.

  2. Teaching Methodology: Communication skills, time management, establishing boundaries, how to address needs of specific individuals or groups, teaching styles, qualities of a teacher, and the business aspects of yoga (including marketing and legal).

  3. Styles of Yoga and learning modalities: Exploring different lineages and styles and identifying your dominant style or styles , and learning how to teach based on others’ learning styles.

  4. Anatomy and Physiology of Yoga: The Anatomy for Yoga module will include a study of anatomy and physiology and how it impacts our asana practice. This module will help further awareness and understanding of yoga anatomy, bodily systems, as well as the subtle body. We will also study nadis, bandhas, chakras, kleshas and koshas.

  5. Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics: Further and deeper study of yoga philosophies and traditional texts such as the Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita, yogic lifestyles, ethics for teaching yoga, understanding yoga as being of service (seva).

  6. Practicum: Practice teaching, receiving and giving feedback, observing others, assisting students while others are teaching and the art of assisting.

  7. 7. Elective Hours on specific areas of interest including but not limited to ayurveda, aerial yoga, online and remote teaching, designing workshops/retreats, sequencing, advanced asana and teaching to special populations.
