Perfect Your Lighting

Nothing has the ability to relax or energize like light. Whether you are waking up first thing in the morning, working out, or going to bed, the level and color of the light in your home changes your energy level. When designing your home yoga studio, make sure you prioritize the natural light coming into your room. You should also find a lamp that you enjoy and a light bulb that provides nice, warm light for your home studio. A beautiful chandelier or lighting on the ceiling is great too so you have something pretty to look at in savasana.

Be Particular About Colors

The colors you choose have an enormous impact on the feeling of peace that accompanies your at-home yoga studio. At The Hot Yoga Spot, we have paid close attention to the coloring of our studio, and it has benefitted us and our members immensely. Consider softer blues and greens in order to bring a feeling of serenity to your at-home yoga studio or yellow and orange to create more energy in the room. Think about what your goals are for the space before you pick your colors and start to paint.

Include Nature

Adding plants to your yoga space is a great way to bring a natural and bright vibe to your home. Whether it’s a snake plant or a longer, viney plant, adding a little bit of that natural green can brighten up your space and bring a sense of natural beauty to your at-home yoga studio. You can also add a mini water feature or something else to help bring the feel of the outside, inside. The sound of water can be very relaxing and these are always lovely to look at!

Don’t Forget a Mirror

Yoga is a very form-based exercise, meaning your form is a very important part of your movements. Since each position aims to stretch and strengthen various areas of your body, you want to make sure you are getting the most out of your yoga sessions. Installing a mirror in your at-home yoga studio is a great way to check your form and make sure you are getting the most out of your yoga practice. This is also important because there won't be an instructor present to provide modifications and assists so the mirror will help you monitor yourself!
